The Miami High AFL Specialisation Program aims to provide athletes with a holistic approach to developing as an Australian Rules footballer on and off the field. Technical, tactical and psychological aspects are covered and demonstrated in this course to improve each individual athlete. Staff delivering the program are nationally qualified with experience in the AFL system and are passionate about mentoring young athletes to maximise their potential. Individual athletes in this program will develop personally and professionally to enhance player progress to pursue elite level aspirations.

Course Structure and Overview

The AFL Specialisation Program is structured as a 3 year course of study from Years 7 to 9 in a combined class.  Students attend 3 x 70 minute lessons which involve a range of practical and theoretical aspects being explored to improve physical performance and game style and education.

Student Experiences

The AFL Specialisation Program will enhance and develop student learning through the following:

  • AFL nationally accredited coaches
  • Affiliation with Gold Coast Suns Football Club
  • Access to Metricon Stadium and Austworld Centre
  • AFL specific Strength & Conditioning sessions
  • Guest speakers and coaching sessions

To be considered for entry into the AFL Specialisation Program, students will need to be a part of a local AFL team and have the desire to take their game to the next level. In addition, students are required to submit a written application and attend a trial day.

Cost

This is a specialisation program so there is no annual fee however external events and competitions may incur additional costs.
