Eligibility
To be considered for a position in an Excellence Academy students must meet the below expectations:

Students are permitted to trial for more than one Excellence Program and must submit a written application for each program.
Students can be selected for two Excellence Programs, providing one is Academic Excellence (for example Stellar and Dance). Please note, this may affect their choices of electives.
Enrolment
Students not currently enrolled at Miami State High are also required to complete the relevant Enrolment Paperwork as part of the application process. This includes new Year 7 students.
Position Offers
The Principal and Dean of Excellence Academy will make the final decision on student selection into the Excellence Academy. These decisions are based on the student meeting the ACE Principles, written application, school academic reports and the specific skills required for each pillar program.
All decisions will be communicated by Dean of Excellence Academy to student applicants and parent / carer via email.
Maintaining of Positions in Programs
Student performance is monitored regularly. Ongoing participation in Excellence Academy pillar programs is determined through continued high performance and exemplarily effort and behaviour. To maintain one's position, in the Excellence Academy, students must meet the Excellence Academy ACE Principles set out in the Excellence Academy Student/Parent Agreement, the school's Behaviour Code of Conduct and consistently demonstrate a high commitment to all aspects of school life. All students must embrace the school's core values of Respect, Connect, and Inspire.
Excellence Academy Student / Parent / Carer Agreement
Miami State High School's Excellence Academy is committed to providing and maintaining a high expectation and outcome focused learning environment for all students. Excellence Academy students must value and respect their placement within their programs.
Student/Parent/Carer Agreements are digital via a link provided to parents and must be signed by the parent and on behalf of the student, prior to commencement of the school year or upon entry in the Excellence Academy at term junctures.
This process applies to current and new students to the Excellence Academy.
